On The Day
Our Story
Tom and Susanne met in 2012, when Tom joined the music society at Lancaster University. Susanne was studying physics and organising the wind band, whilst Tom was studying computer science and wanted to know who was in charge of all that live streaming equipment.
After a couple of years in the music society together, Tom and Susanne started spending a lot more time together, finally telling everyone they were a couple by leaking the information at a Eurovision social.
In 2016, the opportunity arose for Tom and Susanne to move together to Berlin, Germany. Of course, the trumpet and euphonium came with them, and they got to experience playing in a Concert Band and a Jazz Group abroad.
In 2019, the decision was taken to move back to the UK, where Susanne started her teacher training, and Tom started developing iPlayer for the BBC. Susanne now teaches Physics in a Secondary school, and Tom works (mostly) remotely for the BBC from their house in Manchester.
Following several months of lockdown together, and with Susanne's passport due for renewal in 2023, Tom and Susanne got engaged in October 2020. They have enjoyed celebrating their engagement with family and friends since.

FAQ
If your question is not answered below, please feel free contact us at susanne_thomas@outlook.com.
What shoes should I wear?
Bring your dancing shoes! The majority of the day will be inside, and the outside area is paved, so there is no tricky terrain. There will be a Ceilidh in the evening though, so make sure you have shoes you can dance in.
Is there a dress code?
We'd love for everyone to be comfortable. Cocktail attire or smart casual would suit. This is a British summer so the weather could be unpredictable!
Is there a gift registry?
The most important thing is that we're able to celebrate with you on our wedding day. However, if you would like to give a gift as well we would love a contribution towards our ski trip to Canada next year. If you'd like to contribute to that please click here.
Should we post a card?
If you'd like to send us a card there'll be a box on the day.
What is the parking like?
There is plenty of parking on-site at the venue.
Can I bring my dog/cat?
As much as we would love to meet your pets, with the abundance of food we think it's best they don't come inside the venue.
What's a Ceilidh?
A ceilidh usually involves a person called the “caller” explaining a sequence of dance moves to a group of people who then dance along with (often) live music.
When should I arrive?
For the reception, please arrive any time from 13:45.
Where can I stay overnight?
See the accommodation section above, or get in touch and we can help you find somewhere.
Why can't I see information about the ceremony?
We are having a very small ceremony, with our close family. We would love to spend the rest of the day celebrating our marriage with all of our close friends.
